I first fell in love with crafting as a little girl in Brooklyn, NYC after my mom purchased a pottery craft set for me one Christmas. I started making her small things for around the house, and she loved them all! This and many other craft activities such as coloring, pottery, braiding, and cooking occupied my down time, and when you're a kid there's not much to keep you in your seat. During my last year of college, I was taught how to crochet by my younger cousin and became addicted, since it made me excited to see something I've created and could use in a constructive manner. Being a Computer Science graduate, I realized this was my passion; creating necessary steps for a particular output. However, it wasn't until Christmas 2005, mom again purchased my first Knifty Knitter set. For those unfamiliar, these are no-needle knitting looms designed for knitters that prefer knitting without the traditional needles. I'm able to create wonderful designs in forms of round and flat panel garments like hats and scarves. Thereafter, I started evolving and learning new stitches for the looms and this started a new love affair for both crafts. I've learned how to create alternate borders, change colors, add cables and other designs. Let the HONEYLOOM begin!!!

Look, Mom! No-Needles!

Used with a hooking tool, I use these for multiple if not all of my knitting projects. These are special because they can be used in two forms: circular (hat) and flat panel (scarf).

Each stitch is represented by a peg, making it easy for me to start designs properly, while keeping my patterns consistent throughout. Depending on the size of the pegs, bulky-weight yarn is usually better to use for knitting. There are other manufacturers who've designed different sized looms and pegs to give a tighter stitch for smaller sized yarns. Hooks and Crannies!!!

I can use a crochet hook for many purposes. Some projects of mine are done in loom knitted stitches with crocheted borders. Loom knitted projects such as hats need to be casted on with a crochet hook. Even though I'm more of a loomer now, you can definitely see much of my work in crochet stitches as well.
